SHAKE YO! BACON
Chowing down at Shake Yo! Bacon II.
Our classic end of the summer fundraising event. In our 2010 first year, over 350 people came out over Labor Day weekend for the great food from Dan Maur, the former Executive Chef from The Whitney, and music from Tour Detroit DJs, Moon Pool & Dead Band and Will Sessions Funk Big Band. The food sold out and the summer was ended on a perfect note in the backyard of the Old Miami. Proceeds from this event went to Access Arts youth education workshops.
The scene at the 1st Shake Yo! Bacon was Beautiful!
2011’s Event went into a more private setting as we held our 1 year anniversary party at our headquarters in Detroit. 21 Brats, 5 pounds/3 types of bacon (jowl bacon was amazing!), 15 sandwiches, 6 bottles of wine, 1 huge salad, case and half of beer and an apple pie with smoked bacon bits were all devoured with great company, music and a camp fire. Most of the pork served came from Mosefund Farm's rare, free-range Mangalitsa pork from the country of Hungary.
Shake Yo! Bacon I & II were awesome. Look for Shake Yo! Bacon to go public again in 2012.
