Dominic has been working in the Detroit arts industry for over 12 years and holds a Bachelors degree in Music Business Administration from Wayne State University. Some of his experience and background include St. Andrew’s Hall, Movement: Detroit Electronic Music Festival and Detroit Symphony Orchestra where he created their 37/11 audience development program. As founder and Executive Director, Dominic Arellano serves Forward Arts in many different ways.
Outside of Forward Arts, he has also served as Chair for Greening of Detroit’s 20th Year Anniversary Entertainment Committee in 2010, and in 2011 served as Co-Chair of the Michigan Opera Theatre’s largest fundraising event, BravoBravo!. He’ll be returning to Co-Chair BravoBravo! again in 2012 and has recently become Chair of Michigan Opera Theatre’s young professionals group. Dominic is steeped in Detroit's art community and industries across many mediums. “I fell in love with the arts when I saw Michael Jackson’s Thriller tour at the Silverdome in the early eighties.” He lives in City of Detroit, where he’s been for 9 years.
