Dominic has been working in the Detroit arts industry for over 14 years and holds a Bachelors degree in Music Business Administration from Wayne State University. Some of his experience and background include St. Andrew’s Hall, Movement: Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Red Bull, and Detroit Symphony Orchestra where he created their 37/11 audience development program. As founder and Executive Director, Dominic Arellano serves Forward Arts in many different ways.
Outside of Forward Arts, he has also served as Chair for Greening of Detroit’s 20th Year Anniversary Entertainment Committee in 2010, and in 2011 and 2012 served as Co-Chair of the Michigan Opera Theatre’s largest annual fundraising event, BravoBravo!. Currently he serves as Chair of the Young OperaHouse Council, Engagement Chair for the Belle Isle Conservancy's Emerging Patrons Council, and member of the Advisory Board for community + public arts: Detroit. Dominic is steeped in Detroit's art community and industries, across many mediums. “I think I fell in love with the arts when I saw Michael Jackson’s Thiller video in the early eighties.” He lives in City of Detroit, where he’s been for 11 years.
